Good News!?

Jesus is the Savior!

The Gospel, or good news, is the testimony that Jesus Christ, the King, Savior, Lord, Creator, and God with us, has come to bring salvation, life, redemption, healing, wholeness, and hope from His present and coming Kingdom and His work on the cross, in His resurrection, and in His upcoming return.

We are the saved!

Our part in all of it is to first accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and Teacher, thereby receiving his free and empowering gift of new and eternal life and grace, and THEN choose to follow our new teacher's way for our life. Over time, He will train us up by His love and power to live a new life of freedom, wholeness, and hope that more and more reflects His character in us AND calls us to do the same in bringing others into His growing, loving family by preaching the good news in word and deed and showcasing God's saving kingdom love and power in us!

Bible Verses on the Gospel...

God's word helps us learn - Him.

Read the Bible Daily to grow!

Here's some sections to start with...

Genesis 1-3
Get a sense of where and how and - who it all began with. (Bonus round read Genesis chapters 12 and 15 for God's intention with a single people group.)
Exodus 20
Here's the most basic and helpful list of rules we are meant to live by but ultimately struggle to. Welcome to the 10 Commandments.
John 3
Jesus sits down with an earnest seeker to show Him what must happen and how. In verse 16, Jesus gives us one of the most succinct descriptions of the good news of all time. John 3:16-17, "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him."
Luke 15
This three part story with a nice tear jerker at the end shows God's heart for us.
Ephesians 2:8-9
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
John 14:6
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." Other ways don't deliver. Other saviors don't save. He alone is worth following. He alone is worth worshiping. He alone is where we put our trust for eternity.
Romans Road
The book of Romans is profound. Reading the whole thing can give some deep perspective. Reading these specific verses give you a road towards the truth of the gospel: Romans 1:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, Romans 8:1, all of Romans 8, Romans 10:9-10, & Romans 10:13-14
Matthew 28:18-20
Is the great commission. It's the prime call for Christ followers to do what Jesus did and raise up others just He did. Basically: Make apprentices of Jesus, who make apprentices! Matthew 28:18-20 "Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
The Gospels...
Read at least one of the four gospels. Each tell the story with heart and details that show who Jesus is and what He is for us.
Acts 2
And now you know the rest of the story. Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to live in and empower His believers to carry out His work on the earth. Its a great adventure!
